VICTORIA’ S BEACH HOUSE PROJECT
Overview of our project:

This is our family home so the project is very near and dear to us. The building is going to be a retreat summer home for our 2 families of 10. In the future, this is going to become an accomodation business, but at the moment, it is our home.

Hence, we are looking for a cozy, ambience vibe that reminds us of the Mediterranean sea and Vietnam coastal line. Think Santorini of Greece, Cote d’Azur of France, Amanoi of Vietnam. Our house resembles our tastes, we love a modern resort interior yet value the nature and the wilderness of the An Bang coastline.

We want to keep the overall palette of the house to be neutral color and ocean blue, utilizing raw textile such as bamboo, rocks, ceramic, woods, sandbag. The greenery and a pop of color is very important too, so we should really incoporate the most amount of plants and flowes around our home. To give you the best ideas of how we envision our house, we’ll walk you through our thoughts.

OVERALL ARCHITECTURE
Our home is maximum 3 floors, 30m in height (according to local’s requirements).
The architecture emphasizes on openess, so we want a glass house essentially. Second and third floor is preferrably 100% glass wall with some bamboo touch if possible. First floor wall is a combination of glass and simple concrete wall painted in textile pattern. The roof has to be like the middle picture according to local’s requirements.
FIRST FLOOR
Common space

This common space is the first area that a person sees once they enter our house.
Amanoi common space’s interior design is what we are looking for.

It is not necessarily a private living room but a space where even a tourist can come in, have a cafe and enjoy the space. When our house is ready to become an accomodation business, it is going to be the common space to welcome our guests. The interior design is our focus here, the architectural design does not have to be exactly like Amanoi.
Unlike Amanoi’s privacy and tranquility, our house prioritizes the openess and connectivity of the space

emphazing on 90% glass walls, minimal walls inside the house, and closer to nature.
The smaller private living room (not the common space) should connects with the courtyards and the dining area.
From the Common space to the Living room space, I would like to build an open wall and stairs like the picture.
*The land we are going to construct the house on is not flat, the closer it is to the beach the higher the land. So, this will solve the uneveness issue.
The private living room and dining area
The kitchen is next to the living room with a bar stand and the cooking area. The kitchen bar stand is NOT a focal focus, we can replace it with a large dining table which can be utilizied as the prepping space, working space, drinking space,....
Front courtyard overlooking the beach
The courtyard in front of our house overlook the beach exactly like how the left picture depicted it. We would like the floor to be covered with woods if the weather conditions allowed. The vibe, the chair, the trees should be exactly like this. Overall, it is a space to relax, watch the sunset, have a drinks under the shadow of the trees. We want it to embrace the Mediterranean energy, emphasizing on raw textile such as woods, rocks, bamboo, ceramics,....
For the roof of the courtyard, it should be made of the materials like the picture. We will install a medium-sized round table (furthest right picture) there for people to have breakfast, lunch and dinner while enjoying the beach view. It is important to us that we use this material for the roof to be able to catch the maximum amount of natural sunlight and gives the house a beachy feels.

*The design depends on weather conditions
Next to our house is an alley that leads to the beach. The house next to us is called
Salt Pub & Restaurant which has a beautiful vibrant yellow color that complements the overall beach concept. Hence, our house is going to complement to the overall beach vibe by reconstructing the walking pavement with white rock road (picture on the right), plants that bring in beach vibe,.... Overall, achieving the Santorin
SECOND FLOOR
Second floor is bedrooms area, 07 bedrooms in total. There should be 06 standard bedrooms, each ~20 m2 and 01 Master bedroom ~35m2. No common space is needed. The second floor is going to be used for accomodation business in the future.
Master bedroom beach view

Master bedroom has front beach view and a large terrace. The master bathroom is also the largest inside the house.
Other bedrooms

Overall bedroom inspirations for the 06 standard rooms. The bathroom all share the same interior design as the master bedroom (not as big as the master bathroom).

There should be 3 rooms with double queen-sized beds and 3 rooms with one king-sized bed. Each room can be of different design but share the same palette and beach resort vibes. Inspiration resorts are Amanoi, Banyan, Hyatt.
THIRD FLOOR

This space is going to be dedicated to my family only. One coherent space for us to relax and rest. Overall, it will have 01 private cozy living room overlooking the beach, 02 bedrooms, one big common bathroom, 01 mini bar/ mini kitchen zones (simple snacks).
